Odd things happen in his mansion, a closed wing that seems to be calling to him, wanting him to explore. He begins having strange dreams of ancestors calling him, wanting him to take over for his father. He begins seeing visions of long dead family members wandering through the old east wing of the mansion. He soon discovers that his family has for generations been the Tender of the universe, helping an ancient alien race protect and guide the universe that TJ calls home. As he accepts his role of Tender, he discovers the true origins of the universe as well as eight other universes all tended by local residents helping the ancient race still in Universe One.
